ARC Advisory Committee Charges and Members

Publicize ARC services, develop opportunities for outreach, facilitate communication among ARC members, and develop content for the ARC web site.
During academic year 2007-2008, the Communications Advisory Committee is charged with

working with ARC Interest Groups, other Advisory Committees and the Steering Committee to
ensure that their plans and activities are communicated to ARC members and other interested/appropriate audiences,
working with CMRLS staff to promote the use of the ARC Blog for sharing information among
members,
evaluating the current content of the ARC portion of the CMRLS web site to determine whether or not additional pages/information are needed,
working with the CMRLS Strategic Communications Committee to explore ways that ARC may assist with and be included in their efforts

Governance

Annually review governance documents, effectiveness of the Steering Committee and take responsibility for the annual update of the strategic plan. Send ARC documents to the Archives as appropriate.

Professional Development

Develop and promote effective continuing education opportunities, in consultation with the CMRLS Continuing Education Coordinator. The Professional Development Advisory Committee will solicit ideas from the ARC Interest Groups and work with CMRLS and the Executive and Steering Committees to identify sources of funding. BLOG

During academic year 2007-2008, the Professional Development Advisory Committee is charged with:

planning and conducting an ARC professional development needs assessment (Strategic Plan,
Goal 2, Obj. D2). This needs assessment may be coordinated with or based upon the annual CMRLS CE Survey;
identifying a topic and initiating planning for an ARC professional development program (symposium, workshop, seminar) to be held during academic year 2007-2008 (Strategic Plan, Goal 2, Obj. D6).
