Description:
The Circulation Supervisor, under the direction of the Library Director, overseas all operations of the Main Floor Circulation Department, which includes the loaning of all library materials under the rules and regulations established by the Board of Trustees.

Works closely with the Adult Services Librarian and Reference Librarian. Supervises the work of Library Assistants (11 positions), Library Pages (4 positions) and Library Volunteers. Participates in the interviewing and hiring for those positions and is responsible for performance evaluations. Performs varied and responsible duties and exercises considerable independent judgment requiring managerial expertise and problem-solving skills. Serves as backup for Adult Services Librarian and Reference Librarian as needed. Requires strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to perform all Library Assistant tasks as needed.

Description:
Provides Interlibrary Loan and Circulation services in support of the mission of the College.

Accountabilities:
1. Is responsible for both Borrowing and Lending functions in Interlibrary loan including shipping and receiving material.
2. Keeps accurate records and statistics for monthly and annual reporting responsibilities.
3. Oversees student workers in helping to accomplish Interlibrary Loan functions.
4. Collaborates with the Associate Director/Head of Access Services or other library staff in the pursuit of the above accountabilities.
5. Performs searching and processing needed to obtain materials from other libraries via interlibrary loan or effective alternate methods.
6. Assists staff in the access of library materials when needed.
7. Seeks and utilizes opportunities for continuing education to keep knowledge of various procedures and techniques up to date.
8. In the absence of the Associate Director/Head of Access Services, occasionally manages the Circulation area.
9. Attends library staff meetings and participates in committee work.
10. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must possess Excellent computer skills including:
* Familiarity with integrated library systems such as Voyager and online databases
* Experience with OCLC, ARIEL, and ILLIAD ILL system helpful
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
* Understanding of desktop computer hardware.
* Knowledge of and commitment to innovative technology
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
* Ability to work effectively and tactfully under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
* Ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating initiative, resourcefulness and commitment to Academic Library Access.
* Minimum of three years library experience, preferably in an academic setting.
* Ability to lift 20 lbs.
* Bachelor degree required.

Scope:
* Interacts on a regular basis with students, faculty, administration and staff.
* Uses procedures and processes to obtain materials from other libraries through interlibrary loan or other effective means when needed to enable patrons to access the most effective resources for their assignments or other research needs.
* Uses Voyager (Exlibris) , the internet and online databases.
* Operates computers and other equipment involved in the performance of the above accountabilities.

Description:
The Blackstone Public Library has an opening for a Library Director to administer, supervise, and direct all activities of library services and other related work, as required. The director’s responsibilities include: planning and supervising the operations of the library programs and procedures, overseeing and monitoring staff, assigning personnel and developing work schedules, maintaining personnel records, and conducting house training of staff and volunteers. In addition, he/she will be accountable for preparing and monitoring the library budget, overseeing payroll and payment of bills, as well as organizing and writing grants for library funding. The director is expected to troubleshoot and manage all areas of the library’s automated systems as well as perform functions associated with a public library, as required, or as a situation dictates.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in library science from an ALA accredited library school preferred and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a public library. Salary: $47,700. Resumes will be accepted until position has been filled.
