"Your Library's library
brings my patrons
what
they want
when they want it.
It makes us
look good.
We shine even more."
CMRLS launched a binding cooperative with Bridgeport Bindery of Agawam in January 2006.
Any member library can participate. To participate, you only need to prepare your bindery materials as described in the bindery information packet, available by request from CMRLS. They should be boxed and sent to CMRLS, attn: Bridgeport Bindery before the monthly pick up date. Upon receipt of your first order, the Bindery will open your account. The books will be returned to CMRLS 28 days after they are picked up and returned to you by the next delivery.
It is hoped that providing easy, inexpensive access to binding services, libraries of all sizes will be able to preserve important local records or books.
Please note: CMRLS will facilitate the coop, but the relationship for the service is between the Bindery and your library.

A price schedule from the Bindery is included in the information packet. (It is dated 2004, but the prices are steady.) Bridgeport Bindery will bill your library directly each month.
The Bindery will charge no minimum order or pickup fees. If orders do not meet the monthly collective minimum of 50 items, a transportation fee of $65/month may be assessed. The fee would be split among participants. It will be unlikely that there will be fewer than fifty items because two major participants typically have more than that number each month. You’ll note that the price schedule indicates a minimum invoice charge of $60. Coop members will never be subject to the minimum invoice fee.
