Central Massachusetts Regional Library System
Internet Safety Policy
The Central Massachusetts Regional Library System provides access to
the Internet exclusively to adults who are either member librarians or staff. It builds its Website as a library professional resource as
described by the CMRLS Collection Development Policy.
Minors have no access to CMRLS Internet computers, electronic mail, chat rooms or other forms of electronic communication.
Member librarians use the Internet during training on applications, search strategies or databases as described by the CMRLS Computer Lab
policy. Internet safety and education are included in the course offerings available to member librarians.
Staff uses the Internet to access professional resources in the course of fulfilling their job responsibilities.
Activities that are illegal or intended to interfere with or disrupt network users, services, or equipment are prohibited. Such activities
may result in the limitation of the individual's access to CMRLS computers or may also be subject to prosecution by local, state and
federal authorities.
